Who We Are
Mending Access is a nonprofit rooted right here in Grundy County, Illinois. Our mission is to uplift our community by helping cover the cost of therapy and other mental health services.

We were created by community members who saw a real and growing need. People in our area are strong and resilient, but many are quietly struggling to access mental health care because of the cost.
​
We believe that no one should have to go without support simply because they cannot afford it. Mending Access exists to come alongside our neighbors and help make care more accessible, more approachable, and more within reach.
What We Do
We provide grants to help cover the cost of therapy and other mental health services for individuals and families in our community.

These grants are designed to reduce or eliminate out-of-pocket expenses so people can access the care they need without added financial stress.

Whether someone is uninsured, has limited coverage, or faces high deductibles or copays, we step in to help bridge the gap between needing care and being able to afford it.
We Can Help
We prioritize individuals and families who are experiencing financial strain, including those with low or fixed incomes or recent economic hardship.

At the same time, we recognize that financial barriers to mental health care affect people across many situations. Some have insurance that does not include mental health coverage, while others still face high out-of-pocket costs even with coverage.

If paying for therapy or mental health services feels like a barrier for you or your family, we encourage you to apply. Our goal is to make sure more people in Grundy County can access the support they need when they need it.
